Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund

Conservation

VRA partners with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in administering the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF), which was established in the Code of Virginia pursuant to Chapter 13, Title 10.1, Article 1.4, Section 10.1-603.24 and Section 10.1-603-25 and the provisions of § 10.1-1330 during the 2020 session of the General Assembly.  The CFPF provides financial assistance to localities to reduce the impacts of flooding in the Commonwealth, with an emphasis on projects that align with local, state, and federal floodplain management standards, local resilience plans, and the Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan.

DCR manages the application process and reviews requests for loans and grants to determine eligibility for funding.  VRA coordinates the closing and servicing of CFPF loans and grants.
