Stephanie L. Hamlett was appointed to a third term as Executive Director of the Virginia Resources Authority by Governor Ralph Northam. Ms. Hamlett has held a number of positions at the Office of the Attorney General. From March 2012 through April 2014, Ms. Hamlett was a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Education Section. Ms. Hamlett also served in the Attorney General’s Office from April 2002 to January 2010 during which time she was counsel to a variety of state agencies, including the Virginia Retirement System, the Virginia Port Authority, the Virginia College Savings Plan, the Virginia Public School Authority, the Virginia Public Building Authority and the Virginia Economic Development Authority as well as serving as Opinions Counsel. Prior to that, Ms. Hamlett served as staff counsel to the House Finance Committee and the House Appropriations Committee of the Virginia General Assembly. Ms. Hamlett also has private practice experience in public finance having practiced at McGuireWoods. In addition to a law degree from the University of Richmond, Hamlett holds a Masters of Tax Law from William & Mary. Ms. Hamlett is a member of the Virginia Freedom of Information Advisory Council.
