Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund

Overview

VRA partners with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in administering the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF), which was established during the 2020 session of the General Assembly. The CFPF provides financial assistance to localities to reduce the impacts of flooding in the Commonwealth, with an emphasis on projects that align with local, state, and federal floodplain management standards, local resilience plans, and the Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan.

DCR manages the application process and reviews requests for loans and grants to determine eligibility for funding. VRA coordinates the closing and servicing of CFPF loans and grants.

Documents and application materials for future CFPF funding cycles will be available and posted to DCR’s website as future funding rounds are announced.

Additional information about the CFPF can be found on the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation website.
